Back From A Break

It’s been over 2 months since my last blog post.  So let me fill you in on what’s been happening.  I finished editing the draft of my debut novel at the end of January!  I can’t express how amazing it feels.  Now it’s time to move onto the next scary step.  I am going to send it to my beta readers.  I am nervous as I am now putting my baby out in the world uncertain how it will be received. 

I also took a break from social media posting this past month.  Not only was I finishing up my book edits, but I also got sick.  So, I have been taking a well-needed break. 

Although I have been silent in the social media world, I have set some book writing goals for 2025.  I still have a dream of publishing my first book this year.  It will likely be late in the year, but it will be in 2025!

While my book is out with the beta readers, I am going to start my next step on this journey….finding a line/copy editor.  I have read some books where I think an editor, could have polished off their books.  I have listened to other indie authors say, “don’t skip the editor”.  I have come to the conclusion that hiring a professional is a good idea.

Also, if time permits during the beta reader phase, I may re-direct my focus to my second WIP.

I have some lofty goals for February.  I may not get them all done, but I am going to do my best and let the rest slide to the right.  I am wondering in uncharted territory and am uncertain if my goals are aggressive or not.  I intend to find out and not let the setbacks keep me from moving forward.
